Welcome to the VA’s Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP). HPSP provides qualified health professions students an opportunity to establish an educational foundation for each stage of your professional careers.

Since HPSP began providing scholarship support to students pursuing health profession careers in 2016, the program has grown to support, educate and place healthcare professionals within medically underserved programs throughout the continental United States. Today, nearly 1400 students have received scholarship awards, and many have committed to serving their health profession careers at VA.

If you envision a career with a true purpose and mission, VA is looking for people like you. If you are willing to commit to working at the VA, where you can truly make a difference, we encourage you to take the next step toward realizing your future. The scholarship program provides financial support in exchange for a minimum two-year service commitment within the VA in your chosen health professional discipline.
